Read something really interesting today, if anyone thinks that the HCG diet ads sound too good to be true, the Food and Drug Administration agrees.

Recently the FDA and Federal Trade Commission went after a bunch of companies that sell homeopathic HCG to help people lose weight. Regulators have said the marketing of the products makes them “unapproved new drugs and illegal.”

A dieter is supposedly takes HCG to help curb cravings while sticking to an extremely low-calorie diet of, say, 500 calories a day. Stick with that and you’re supposed to lose a pound a day.
